Candidates Endorsed by Texas Parent PAC Win Big on March 2! Nine candidates endorsed by Texas Parent PAC won their primary elections March 2, and four additional candidates garnered the most votes but face runoff elections on April 13. Congratulations to these candidates and their campaign teams! Texas Parent PAC helped the winning candidates in many ways, including four-color postcards, endorsement news releases, live phone banks, robocalls, canvassers, consultation, as well as campaign contributions that funded TV, radio, signs, and campaign staff. Thanks to generous Texas Parent PAC donors who made this possible! A summary of the results is below, and complete primary election returns are at the Secretary of State web site. 2010 Primary Election Winners First-time candidate winners H.D. 4: Lance Gooden, Terrell (defeated Rep. Betty Brown), winning with 50.50% of the vote. www.lancegooden.com H.D. 87: Four Price, Amarillo (open seat), winning with 55.15% of the vote. He will have an opponent in November. www.fourprice.org H.D. 100: Eric Johnson, Dallas (defeated Rep. Terri Hodge), winning with 74.74% of the vote. www.johnsonfortexas.com H.D. 122: Lyle Larson, San Antonio (open seat), winning with 83.96% of the vote. www.lylelarson.org State Board of Education 9: Thomas Ratliff, Mount Pleasant (defeated incumbent Don McLeroy), winning with 50.37% of the vote. www.thomasratliff.com Thanks to the other endorsed candidates who campaigned very hard but unfortunately did not win: Rebecca Osborne and Tim Tuggey for the State Board of Education, and Richard "Link" Linkenauger and Stephen Thomas for the Texas House of Representatives. Endorsed candidates in runoff elections on April 13 H.D. 66: Mabrie Jackson, Plano (open seat), with 41.04% of the vote. Her runoff opponent, Van Taylor, received 33.48%. www.mabriejackson.com H.D. 83: Rep. Delwin Jones, Lubbock, with 39.16% of the vote. His runoff opponent, Charles Perry, received 32.03%. www.delwinjones.com H.D. 84: Mark Griffin, Lubbock (open seat), with 48.74% of the vote.
